Just providing a little bit of intentional Spanish input with those easy resources each week can have a lasting impact. My ability to connect with others isn’t worse off because I learned Spanish after the age of six. BUT, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better. It will also shift the way they relate to that language in an amazing way if they grow up with it from a young age. Older kids, teens, and adults learn new languages all the time. It makes us feel like a clock is ticking, when in reality it isn’t. It isn’t helpful, or empowering, or inspiring. You get guilt tripped, and anxious, and rushed, and fear-mongered with that narrative. You never hear the full story with that narrative.
